Treasures of The Silk Road Necklace

$256.00

This piece was born from my love of Kathak, one of India’s great classical dance traditions — a dance of rhythm, storytelling, and ancient lineage. As I created it, I imagined the way cultures have always moved, traded, and intertwined across centuries… especially along the Silk Road, where artisans, ideas, and treasures traveled from continent to continent.

This necklace is my homage to that world — a tapestry of global materials coming together in harmony, much like the rhythmic footwork, spins, and expressive gestures of Kathak itself.

At the center hangs an oxidized brass pendant, ornate and deeply rooted in classical motifs, finished with cascading turquoise briolettes that echo the movement of ghungroo bells on a dancer’s ankles. Surrounding it is a rich blend of beads from across the world:
Carved turquoise
Pyrite
Czech glass
African trade beads
Red coral from Ghana
Chrysocolla
Carnelian
Canadian jade
Larvikite

The necklace is completed with matte Czech glass at the clasp — a quiet nod to the final “sam,” the resting point in Kathak rhythm.

A piece that celebrates movement, heritage, trade routes, and the beauty of global craftsmanship.
