This necklace was born from a moment of quiet inspiration — the kind that arrives unexpectedly and entirely on its own timing. With my music on shuffle, “Stay With Me” by Miki Matsubara began to play, and as the first notes filled the room, my eyes landed on a rare Biwa pearl from Lake Biwa, Japan. Its soft iridescence held the same nostalgic glow as the song, and in that instant, the design took shape.
Biwa no Yoru blends opposites beautifully — bold and delicate, modern and timeless. At the center hangs the sculptural Biwa pearl, framed by hand-wrapped freshwater pearls and white opals set in sterling silver. Their subtle fire adds depth and movement, enhancing the luminous presence of the central pearl.
