Al Mawja was born during a calm studio moment, with a soft mix of global music playing — “Zorouni” by Zamane, “Everything’s Okay” by Lenka, and “Lua Vai, Lua Vem” drifting in the background. The blend of Arab and Brazilian melodies shaped the fluid, rhythmic movement of this design.
Inspired by the sweeping, wave-like forms of Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid, this piece reimagines a classic pearl strand through an architectural lens. 8 mm freshwater pearls are spaced with puffed rice–shaped gold beads and brushed silver wave discs, creating a sculptural pattern that echoes soft, undulating water.
